The Right Stuff is one thing, but this has more of the flavor of the period, let's say. VG in pictorial wraps, with some rubbing to boards, slight lean to book, small spot to foredge of text, internally clean. Many b&w photos.

Racine, WI: Whitman, 1964. Hardcover. Fine. Lafferty, Edward J.. Volume 23 of the "A Whitman Learn-About Book_ series. Book is outstanding, no bubbling or separating of cellophane as is so common on Whitman titles. No marks or writing, colors bright, pages appear unread.

Northbrook, IL: Hubbard Press, 1973. Hardcover. Near Fine. A totally groovy psychedelic hardcover collection of sheet music for children's songs. NOT a comb binding but a standard hardcover. It's all about smiles and friendship and rainbows and all that other great stuff that made the 70's such a happy time. Fully illustrated by the author in the colors of my mother's kitchen circa 1973, orange and brown with an occasional burst of pink or blue. Includes classic songs like Kumbaya and Froggie Went a-Courtin' as well as a groovin tune called Smoo, about "traveling down a river of dreams and feelings." No jacket, as issued, full-color picture cover in as-new condition, You, like, totally won't be disappointed, man.

Second printing, with typical school stamp (typical of the front of textbooks) inside front cover, but totally unmarked internally. Ding to rear board near spine, a little wear, overall VG+. Seriously pretty odd--someone must have a fond memory of this title.

Very clean book with minimal wear--small scuff to bottom right corner of glossy pictorial boards, else fine. Internally clean and unmarked, with charming illustrations of Christmas traditions from around the world.

Delacorte, 1981. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. From the former children's book editor of Booklist, this is a helpful guide to both what books you might pick for children of different ages, and how you might do it. First printing, VG in a Good jacket, with assorted small tears and some creasing to the front flap. Book is clean, square, unmarked.

Doubleday, 1955. Cloth. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Ames, Lee J.. Oversized pictorial cover children's picture book, no jacket. Serious wear to top and bottom of spine and some corner bumps, and boards are slightly warped, but binding is tight, no loose pages, overall very good condition. Beautifully illustrated in color and B&W, telling the stories of the major battles of The Civil War, profuse illustrations, written at an intermediate-grade level. Really nice volume for home schoolers or collectors of books on the War.

New York: Thomas Crowell, 1965. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Kessler, Leonard. Kids nature title about ducks. A bit of soil to front boards, light wear to lower corner, otherwise NF. No jacket.

New York : Harcourt Brace, 1958. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Daugherty, James. A collection of Sandburg's poetry, per the flap, "gathered for young readers." Book is as-new with blue cloth boards and illustrated endpapers. Yellow jacket is price-clipped and shows wear along the spine, especially at the top and bottom. Small closed tear to the back of the jacket. A classic from the Illinois legend and multiple Pulitzer winner.

Spine is seperating slightly near the top with the cellophane beginning to bubble, also minor rubbing to bottom of spine. Otherwise book is in excellent condition, probably unread.

New York: Viking, 1980. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Stated first edition, first printing, in as-new condition. Jacket shows only the tiniest hint of wear, but IS price-clipped.

American Book Company, 1883. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. Fair to poor, but with interesting pencil markings dating to 1890 from previous owner (Carrie Fablinger). Notation to a free endpaper says "Do not steal this book for fear of shame for here you see the name of it's owner, Carrie Fablinger". Signigicant wear to boards, spine intact, some page corners torn, some staining and yellowing to pages.

Outstanding illustrations. First printing, fine in a fine jacket. No markings, just a bit of wear to jacket at top front near flap.

Kane/Miller, 1994. Hardcover. Very Good. Later printing of this hilarious explanation of that oh-so-most-embarassing of all bodily functions! Previos owner's name written on front board, else clean and tight. Picorial boards, no jacket, as issued.

First printing, nice copy of this humorous book to help kids deal with the difficulties of everyday life. Near fine with no marking internally, in a VG jacket with some wear and a 1 inch tear at top front corner. Older Kroch's & Brentano's price sticker remains on lower front.
