The Unwritten Law

By Conley, Carolyn A.

NY: Oxford, 1991. Book. Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Unpriced jacket, no debossing mark, book club seems unlikely given the subject, but I can not be sure, full number line. The Supreme Court and the Bicentennial

By Douglas, William O.

Rutherford: Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 1978. Book. Very Good-. Hardcover. 1st Edition. This listing is for 3 WOD items we acquired from the estate of a noted American politician of Justice Douglas' era. It seems likely he was an enthusiast for the famed jurist's iconoclastic style and liberal views. They are sold together with one-book priced domestic media mail shipping. Details above are for the bicen. piece, spine sunned, unmarked. It seems to be a history of the court from it's earliest days to the time of WOD. A rough, paperback (clipped front corner cover) of "Points Of Rebellion" also unmarked accompanies. The 3rd item is a 50th anniversary (of his appointment) Remembrance celebration program (WOD passed away in '80). Comments and writing by Burger, Brennan, Sevareid, many clerks and judicial notables, oversize, stiff paper covers, gold cord serves to bind, some wear. Foto of the group will follow. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

Crime in America

By Clark, Ramsey

NY: Simon & Schuster, 1970. Book. Very Good+. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). First Printing. We were delighted recently to acquire a number of books from Senator Frank Church's estate. This book is warmly insribed to Senator Frank Church from Ramsey Clark, first endpage. Book is unmarked, uncocked, gilt reads nicely, as does the medium blue of the book's cloth. Text wholly unmarked, trace of top stain uneveness, which I suspect is a bindery issue. Additionally, in just now loading the books foto image some front stain shows, so mild that I had missed it without the flash. . . *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

The English Constitution in the Reign of Charles The Second

By Amos, Andrew

London/Cambridge: V. And R. Stevens/ Deighton Bell, 1857. Book. Good+. Full-Leather. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. The book measures 8 5/8 x 5 5/8 inches. I could be mistaken in asserting this as first edition, it shows no later printings and I surmise was not reprinted in this era. It is X-library, showing marks from the time of it's making thru 1951 of this staus. Ribbed at spine with title done in gilt on red, balance tan leather. Ribs and boards edges have gilt work. First pastedown has seller and xlibrils labels. Text edges have Law Library stamps. 328 pages w/ a good bit of text darkening, binding holding beautifully. No restorer has been used on it and it is now stored air tight. Should one wish to read it I'd suggest Fredelka or lanolin based treatment to preserve leather suppleness. We do not use these based on archivist recommendation. There is exterior hinge abrasion and board edge chipping. Endsheets have traces foxing and the title page and last endsheet have small, light pencil marks. Corners have much abrasion and shaping to text. Foto will follow shortly..

Harrisburg: Stackpole, 1964. Book. Good+. Hardcover. 1st Printing, Revised Ed.. Subtitle, "Close combat techniques for military and police." an expansion of "Kill or get Killed." Excellent hard cover copy with only mild wear excepting one notable issue. The issue is that page 205 was paper clipped and it's removal has left an imprint and thin 1/2 " gouge in margin. New York: Basic Books, 1979. Book. Good+. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). First Edition, Full Number Line. Subtitled, "Crime and the Morality of the Death Penalty." Book has a fairly mild overall warp/curvature, which I missed at first. The boards are unbumped, binding tight. The jacket is quite rough, with a number of short tears and edgewear. Ames Competition

By Unknown

Unknown, 1956 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Hardback, presume first. A most unusual item.Of several high powered attorneys of whom I inquired, one reckoned it to be the record of a moot court lawsuit, presumeably from some academic organization. The subject of the " lawsuit" is a dispute over trademark infringement between clock manufacturers. It is oddly made, consisting of 3 pamphlets covering various phases of the legal actions which are folded into a cloth covered folding case which then slides into a matching cloth boarded slipcase bound in leather at spine. The pamplets are in generally good shape, one with a bit more wear, having been used as a writing pad and the pressure of the pen point has left light tracks, on it's back are fountain penned notes referencing Justice John Harlan and Sir Leslie Munro Ambassador NZ. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately.
