Pierrot Mon Ami, Excercises de Style

By Queneau

Elmwood Park: Dakey Archive Press, 1987. Book. Good -. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Ex library. Text unmarked, in English, translation by Barbara Wright. The pair at the listed price with one-book priced shipping. PLEASE NOTE I recently sold these and had them returned (our 3rd return in 15 years) because Pierrot was xlibrary, and shockingly, in FRENCH in the other case and the vendor slightly mis-classified them. . . Calamities of Authors

Calamities of Authors

By D'israeli, Isaac

NY: Funk & Wagnall, 1880. Book. Good+. Paper/Wraps. 5th or later Edition. Subtitle,"some inquiries respecting their moral and literary characters." An odd oversize pamphlet version of the 1812 original, says on the cover "printed without abridgment." This seems unlikely somehow as the works original version seems to have been 2 volumes. This 0ne runs from the preface through "The Illusions of Writers in Verse," and the index. About sheet music size. The work is complete as printed, some leaves are uncut. The author is Father of the British politician. The item is rather worn and age darkened but fully legible. It has a neat discard stamp, front cover, from a University library. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

The Shadow Factory

By West, Paul

Santa Fe: Lumen, 2008. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Called the prose twin to West's "Tea with Osiris." I do not have edition ID for this house, but it seems logical to assume this is the items first appearance, no other printings are noted, priced back panel. Odd little flaw, there is an area of micro dents, hard to see, on front/lower jacket panel. No evidence of this on the books cloth cover. Book is quite clean and solid in all other ways. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

He Who Rides A Tiger

By Bhattacharya, Bhabani

Bombay: Jaico, 1955. Book. Fair+. Soft cover. This is a very old paperback book. Sound and unmarked, but, as a perfect bound (unsewn and the glue is over 60 years old) so, of course we consider it a reading copy. I occasionally encounter a client who doesn't realize what perfect binding is and how the glue loses its quality over the decades. Yes, roughly treated or even babied it may not last long. Thats why proper books are not bound this way. South Asian made, soiled back panel, crease front panel. Our perfect bounds are sure to make it thru a reading, but we can not guarantee the pages won't loosen. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Exterior hinging worn thru in place, perhaps 10% of the text has pencil marking, foxed, board tip abrasion. Text age darkened, print quite small. Still, text complete.
