Right From The Start: A Chronicle of the McGovern Campaign

By Hart, Gary Warren

NY: Quadrangle/ NY Times, 1973. Book. Good+. Hardcover. Inscribed by Author(s). 1st Edition. An odd group of defects is present here. Hardcover is inscribed (For Ron- with best personal regards-Gary Hart) title page. Flaws include 1 tiny scratch 1st endsheet, tiny (hard to see) hole upper same page, and a small (1/2 fingernail size) chip out of the edge of the title page. The back board has 2 small bumps that I surmise were slubs in the makers cloth. Book has a bit of tip abrasion. Text unmarked. Jacket is unchipped but has a 2" tear front panel. Book and jacket are, I think, nicer than this may sound, foto of book and jacket will be made. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

The Workers Opposition

By Kollontai, Alexandra

Kent: Solidarity, 1968. Book. Good. Trade Paperback. 5th or later Edition. Roughish, oversize staple bound pamphlet, 70 pages, text complete, fully legible. One thinks this might be a Socialist Trotskyite recapitulation of the early Bolsheviki response to Trotsky's efforts to give Unionized Labor a place in the early Sovieitization of the Russian Empire, criticism included. I care not. The worst of the ilk was our reflexive anti-collectivist Ayn Rand. She was the proof that absolutism is always a travesty. . .Sigh.Oh. for Orwell to live again. . .2 legs good 4 legs bad. . . Enough, enough. Book complete, dowdy, unlovely. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

A history of the obscure/notable/criminal/statesmen who have held the office. clean, unbumped copy. The Wrong Horse

By Stern, Laurence

NY: Times, 1977. Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Sub-title, "the politics of intervention and the failure of American diplomacy." I am optimistic that (per McBride) the NAP status of this book indicates first edition, priced jacket, no number code present. I'd have graded this one as Fine, but noticed an odd flaw in processing it. The 6th and 7th pages seem to have caught in the bindery process near the spine, leaving a micro chip at 6s bottom and leaving a crease (now corrected) with tiny tears at the bottom of 7, additionally 7 and the leaves immediately following are not bound in properly at their bottoms, probably the trigger for the binding incident. Still had to look quite close to see any of this. Additionally, the binding is eased (though not gappy) at the gutter before the title page, perhaps a too wide opening? Jacket very handsome, unclipped, no tears. This copy came from the estate of a noted US politician. It has a loosely laid in presentation note from the American Hellenic Institute. No marking, text bright. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

NY: Sperr & Douth, 1975. Book. Very Good-. Hardcover. We take this to be the first printing of the '75 edition. Clean, straight hard cover copy. Front board panel has hint of wear/scratch. At the last moment (as I prepared the foto) noticed creasing and margin chunk missing from 2nd to last page, text itself not impinged, grade lowered. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Armed and Alone

By Rudoy, Dean Wm

NY: Brazilier, 1972. Book. Fine. Hardcover. Inscribed by Author(s). Straight, clean, unmarked harcover, slender. In all cases previously we have been able to guarantee the signatures origin as being that of the author. Not the case here, though we are fairly sure of the provenance. IE we received many signed books from this source and are sure of them. This on has warm inscription to Senator Frank Church 1st end sheet signed illegibly, likely Dean,or perhaps a nick name, it came from the late Senator's library. Sub-title, "the American Security Dilemma." Jacket price clipped, tiny mark back panel, no tears, quite sharp. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.

Nightside

By Roy, Howard

New Bedford: Reynolds Dewalt, 1968. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition NAP. One of the stranger items in our inventory. . .A handsome hardcover presumably reprints from Roy's column writing for an upper east coast paper. One of the subjects of the writing is the self-proclaimed Chief Burning Wood (Austin Burton, sometime political candidate) and he, Burton has inscribed this copy to Idaho senator Frank Church, and underlined a relevant 2 word portion. Book straight and otherwise newish in all respects. Laid loosely in is what appears to be an actual fotocopy of Wall St Journal writing regarding Burton's electioneering in 68 and 72. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. By Kasai, Jiuji G.

Tokyo: Japan American Cultural Society, 1979. Book. Very Good-. Hardcover. 1st Edition. The book's subtitle is, "An Homage to Senator Hubert H. Humphrey." The first endsheet has a laid in Ex-Libris plate gifting the book to Senator Frank Church from Kasai, and bearing mr. Kasai's signature and noting his age, 93 years old. Book is clean and decent, if ever so mildly cocked (spine slant) and the spine has notable sun fade. The book consists of the extensive correspondence Mr. Kasai carried on with Mr. Humphrey and his correspondence with many other prominent American political figures. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. La Svizzera

By Reale, Egidio

Lugana: Ghilda Del Libro, 1946. Book. Very Good-. Hardcover. 1st Edition. This is a hardcover reading copy. The only date appearing is 1946 we therefore assume it (perhaps incorrectly) to be first edition. Text appears to be Italian many illustrations throughout. The book while essentially sound has a number of cosmetic issues all minor. Exterior grey cloth boards have the odd light stain. Text with the occasional smudge is bright, binding sound. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*.
