From the title page "Apaurak in Alaska-Social Pioneering Among The Eskimos- translated and compiled from the records of Rev. Brevig, pioneer missionary to the Eskimos of Alaska from 1894 to 1917." Big, solid book, a few pages micro dogeared upper and while zero H2O damage is present it may have a hint of mustiness from storage. This is the case here as a neat small penned owners name is on the first paste down. Text is crisp and bright, typical sturdy Caxton work. Boards unbumped, navy cloth with fine gilt on cover and spine. Jacket decent, abrasion, no long tears. Idaho Falls: The Eastern Idaho Farmer, 1963. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good-/No Jacket. The book has a very nice, handsome appearance. Marbled leather at boards have a trace of abrasion at the bottom and top of spine. Unbumped, clean. There is a warm inscription by Edith Lovell title page. It appears that she may have signed for her husband as well. Additionally, Kay Jensen, who is credited for the artwork, has signed below Mrs. Lovell. The book's sole flaw, if it may be called that, is a trace of mild gapping twixt signatures at the book's center. This "flaw" is evident only when the book is viewed from the top and bottom. Lewiston: Bailey-Blake, 1943. 1943, Limited . Hardcover. Poor/No Jacket. Many roughnesses here, but binding holding, content sound. 3rd endsheet, just prior to Bailey signature has been unevenly scissored out, gutter unaffected. The board bottoms have wicked up moisture and the first and last end sheets have some pink color as a result, largely at their bottoms and text is generally unaffected. The front boards have splotching, fairly mild, bumping, all tips. Other than the above referenced and age darkening of texts edge, it is good content wise, with significant battered charm. Whimsical cover illustration (con Lucifer) reads nicely.
