In 1980 and 1981, renowned photographer Ulli Steltzer travelled across the Canadian Arctic, from east to west, cameras and tripods in tow, pursuing the remnants of the ancient and intricate Inuit culture. As she moved from Labrador and Northern Quebec, to Baffin Island, Keewatin, the Central Arctic, High Arctic and Western Arctic, she lived, hunted and fished with local families, and captured the moments of their lives on film.
