Toronto: Ginn and Co., 1958. NEAR-FINE vintage hardcover. A spectacular copy for discriminating collectors or home school parents. Boards are nearly perfect, showing only a hint of wear at the extremities. Inside, this book appears to have never been handled by a child. It is clean and tight, and with the exception of a few tiny checkmarks and 'x's on several pages, is completely unmarked. There are no school stamps or markings & no library stamps or markings. Red cloth boards show a boy and girl on a horse-drawn wagon. - The seven units in this book teach children how to spell words associated with various facts about history: Building New Words, Canada, A Land of Opportunity, Canadian Food Products, The Conservation of Natural Resources, Health and Disease, Man and His Machines. A former school book with just one school stamp on the endpaper, the edges of the boards are rubbed, but the front cover picture of young girl dancing in a meadow is bright and complete. The back cover has the number 2 written in felt pen. The binding is square and solid, and all 146 pages are tight. I inspected the book page-by-page, and found only 3 tiny edge tears, a few light spots on page 28, and one fingerprint. 6.25" by 8.5".. Hard Cover.
