INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on a piece of Toklas's 5, rue Christine stationery: "For Mrs. Franklin D. A two-page handwritten letter on one sheet of White House stationery embossed with gilt Presidential Seal SIGNED by the First Lady to Eddie [Roddan of the Democratic National Committee]. In full: "I am enjoying my bag but even more did I appreciate your sweet note & thought of me. You are all very good to me & I am so fond of you all that I hate to have you ill or unhappy & I hope that for you the New Year will bring health & happiness in full measure-- All good wishes. Affly yours, Eleanor Roosevelt. Dec. 29th."

A SIGNED AUTOGRAPH QUOTATION on a 4-1/8" x 6-5/8" sheet from the novel FALKLAND by Edward Bulwer Lytton, dated 27 July 1848, written to William W. Stickney, U. S. Attorney for the state of New Hampshire. In full: "The passions are like sounds of nature, only heard in her solitude. Our senses may captivate us with beauty; but in absence we forget or can conquer so superficial an impression. New York, 12 May 1958 (postmark date). Letter. Crease from mailing otherwise Fine. A brief 1-1/2-page AUTOGRAPH LETTER in green ink on both sides of personal stationery headed "Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt," completely in Eleanor Roosevelt's hand, to her son James Roosevelt SIGNED as "Mother." In part: "I had forgotten about Mother's Day so thank you for a happy reminder." With a stamped envelope addressed in another hand except for the recipient's name written by Eleanor Roosevelt in the same green ink: "Hon James Roosevelt."

Illustrated with photographs. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the First Lady on the front endpaper to old friends Henry Morgenthau Jr. and his wife Marcelle: "To Henry & Marcelle/A Merry Xmas & a happy New Year/from/Eleanor Roosevelt/Xmas 1958." Henry Morgenthau was a long time friend of Franklin Roosevelt and was his Secretary of the Treasury. An uncommon title to find signed let alone with such a fine association.

Compiled from the NBC News White Paper reported by White House correspondent Chris Wallace. Illustrated with numerous photographs including a color photo of the Reagans on the dustwrapper. SIGNED by the late president and dated 3 June 1994 on the red front free endpaper. Below his signature is the SIGNATURE of Nancy Reagan with the sentiment "Best Wishes" on a piece of paper that has been neatly pasted in and can be easily removed if so desired. Books genuinely signed by Ronald Reagan have become quite scarce and usually turn up with a signed bookplate rather than actually signed in the book, as the case here. Many "signed" Ronald Reagan books offered on are forgeries.

On a stiff 4" x 3" sheet folded in half with one inside panel (2" x 3") containing in a very small hand a transcription of THE LORD'S PRAYER with elaborate illustrated border SIGNED by the artist at the bottom. With an AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED by Jeffery in the same miniature hand addressed to FDR's secretary Missy Le Hand forwarding THE LORD'S PRAYER. In part: "This from a man of 65 who has just recovered from a long illness due to an auto accident ... and after spending a year surrounded [by] many, many little ones in the neighborhood, am now ready to resume my lectures on Humanology." Housed in a red cloth chemise and slipcase. On one inside cover of the chemise Eleanor Roosevelt has SIGNED her and her husband's initials--"FDR/ER"--with the paper label used in Franklin Roosevelt's miniature book collection below, this numbered "1337." An 8" x 10" silver print photograph portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt wearing pearls and smiling. SIGNED by her on a light portion of the photograph: "To Miss Emily(?) Sachs/With warm good wishes/Eleanor Roosevelt." Accompanied by a TYPED LETTER SIGNED by the former First Lady dated 25 March 1960 to Miss Sachs thanking her for her kindness and forwarding this photograph.

Photograph. The writing is dark, though there is a smear that affects the "M" in "Mr." and the "E" in "Eleanor." Lovely and elegant image in Near Fine condition. A superb 9" x 12" photograph printed on stiff paper depicting Mrs. Roosevelt standing in a formal white gown by a window presumably in the White House. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by her on the white dress that drapes across the floor: "To Mr. Eugene List/with good wishes/Eleanor Roosevelt." Although the photograph is not signed by the photographers, it is a well-known image by Harris & Ewing.

[circa 1963]. Framed Photograph. The ink may possibly have been gone over, likely by Kennedy or Fox, but it's difficult to tell as it has been done very carefully. Fine. Fine image (8" x 10") matted and framed to an overall size of 13-1/2" x 16" of a smiling President Kennedy in profile, with the smiling First Lady just behind him. Wonderfully INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Jackie on the blank margin beneath the image: "For Sandy Fox -- who worked with such tirelessness and/devotion and pride -- and helped to make/President Kennedy's years in the White House/such shining ones -- With my deepest appreciation/Jacqueline Kennedy." Washington, 1896. First Edition. wraps. Vertical crease down center. Very Good or better, and scarce. An eight-page speech bound in the original printed orange wraps. This copy is SIGNED as President by Cleveland at the bottom blank margin of the last page of text and dated "Oct. 26, 1896." It is also INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Mrs. Grover Cleveland at the top of the front cover: "Mr. H. W. Green./from/Frances F. Cleveland." President Grover Cleveland, 49, married Frances Folsom, 21, in June 1886 at the White House, the only President to be married in the White House. When the Clevelands left the White House in 1897, they retired to Princeton where Grover Cleveland died in 1908. In 1913 Frances married a Princeton University professor of archaeology becoming the first presidential widow to remarry. There was an H. W. Green active in New Jersey politics in the middle of the nineteenth century, and this is likely the inscribee.

Washington: Friends of President Nixon, (1972). First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine, as issued without dustwrapper. Quarto, pictorial boards. Illustrated with many photographs, most in color. Inspirational extracts from Nixon's writings and speeches, published before the Watergate debacle. An uncommon Nixon book, especially when SIGNED by the former President, as this copy is on the contents page. Additionally SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Pat Nixon to Chiquita Williams "with our appreciation/and best wishes" and dated "Christmas 1975." Chiquita Williams was apparently on the Nixon's staff at their "Western White House" in San Clemente, California.

Washington DC, 8 December 1939. Letter. Stains in the upper right blank margin with two small stains on the text; small portions of upper left margin torn away; Roosevelt's signature is Fine. Overall Very Good. On White House letterhead SIGNED by the First Lady to Florida Senator Claude Pepper. In full: "Could you get this boy an appointment if you find he is worthy? Also, could you answer the mother's question about a place to live, as you know Florida better than I do?" A short but interesting letter showing the First Lady's concern and kindness for people. Claude Pepper served in the United States Senate from 1936 to 1951 and later served the Miami area in the United States House of Representatives from 1963 until 1989, the year of his death.
