Washington: The Carnegie Institution of Washington, 1919 Four hardbacked volumes, each 230mm x 293mm tall (9" x 11.5" approx). The classic monograph of cacti, copiously illustrated with fine colour plates and line drawings and many photographs of specimens in the field and in the greenhouse. Hoen & Co. after Mary E. Eaton, H.A. Wood, Kaka Morita and others. Ex-library set with labels, stamps and shelf marks long since removed, and lacking one 16pp section of text together with 2 plates in volume two, and a single plate in volume four. It is nonetheless a useful reference set, with 134 (of 137) full-page plates, of which 105 are superbly coloured, and some 1,120 photographs and text figures.. First Edition. Cloth.
