A spectacular portfolio of 12 HUGE (66 x 52 cm) PENCIL-SIGNED ORIGINAL COLOR PRINTS BY THE LEADING YOUNG CATALAN ARTISTS OF THE 1960S: Albert Ràfols-Casamada, Tharrats, Guinovart, Subirachs, Vilacasas, Esther Boix, Joan Brotat, Todó, Moisès Vilèlia, Garcia Llort, Grau Garriga, and Torres Monsó. Vilacasas' print is an etching, Todó's is a woodcut, Tharrats' is a lithograph, and the remaining 9 are linoleum cuts. Each print represents a month (of 1966) and a profession: astronaut, carpenter, housepainter, etc. ONE OF VERY FEW COPIES PRINTED ON FINE WOVE PAPER WATERMARKED "J ROMANI", with EACH OF THE PRINTS SIGNED IN PENCIL. Loose as issued. Fine and bright, with no defects. An outstanding collection of large, brightly-colored original prints.

Utrecht: Aldopress, 1975. THE EXTREMELY RARE FIRST ARTIST'S BOOK COMPRISING MATERIALS READABLE ONLY BY COMPUTERS. Includes a deck of thirty punch cards (all punched) and a roll of punch tape (also punched), as well as an envelope containing a folding card with printed instructions. Housed in the original printed box. 17 x 23 x 3 cm. The only artist's book created by André Swertz (1947-2021) and the only publication of the Aldopress. One of 36 numbered copies, SIGNED BY SWERTZ. Most copies were destroyed. AN ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE COPY, PERHAPS THE ONLY SUCH COPY SURVIVING.

Paris: La Fanfare de Montparnasse, 1925. First edition of this short novel by Warnod, illustrated thoughout with drawings by Pascin, hand-colored with pochoir. 4to. Original salmon pink wrappers. Wrappers lightly crinkled at spine with a small tear at base of spine, else a fine and bright copy of a charming book.

AN OUTSTANDING ASSOCIATION COPY, WITH AN EXTREMELY FINE SIGNED SURREALIST DRAWING BY THE ARTIST, DEDICATED TO JEWISH FRENCH MIME MARCEL MARCEAU (1923-2007). Marceau had written the preface for another collection of Tuszynski's drawings, "Ballade de Paris" (1961). Folio. Loose as issued in publisher's wraps. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS. An outstanding association copy, in pristine condition.

A gorgeous livre d'artiste, illustrated with FOUR LARGE, STUNNING ORIGINAL COLOR WOODCUTS (and four small woodcut tailpieces depicting the symbols of the evangelists) BY HERMANN-PAUL. Text elegantly printed throughout in black and blue on extremely fine Van Gelder wove paper. EDITION LIMITED TO ONLY 45 NUMBERED COPIES, of which this is one of 15 numbered in Roman numerals (III). Folio. Loose as issued in original wraps. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS, in the original (lightly-worn) board chemise. A gem of a book, and one of Hermann-Paul's best (and rarest).

Paris: Pierre Berès, 1952. Christian d'Espic. A gorgeous and very rare livre d'artiste, with 28 ORIGINAL AQUATINTS BY CHRISTIAN D'ESPIC (1901-78), a surgeon who had learned etching from his close friend Jacques Villon (D'Espic's wife, Colette de Ginestet, would go on to compile the standard catalogues raisonnés of the etchings of both her husband and of Villon.) Edition limited to 60 numbered copies, all printed on fine Arches wove paper. With a long and affectionate signed inscription from the poet on the half-title. Large folio. Loose as issued in original wraps. FINE AND BRIGHT, with no defects, in the original chemise and slipcase (a bit worn).

Milano: Enrico Pestalozzi, 1875. A gorgeous album devoted to Ferrara. 175, 6 pp. plus 32 full-page steel engravings and lithographs (two of the latter are delicately colored by hand.) On fine wove paper. Large folio (38.5 x 28.5 cm). In the original embossed polished cloth binding, title in gilt. A bit of light wear to binding and a bit of faint internal spotting, but still a very good, undoctored copy. Extremely rare. One copy in WorldCat.

Paris: MM. Paulin & Le Chevallier, 1859. Very Good. A wonderful suite of 30 LITHOGRAPHS BY LAURENS ON CHINE APPLIQUÉ (complete), depicting scenery, monuments, and traditional costumes encountered during a train journey from Lyon to Sète (or "Cette", as it is spelled here.) Oblong folio (28 x 36 cm). Loose as issued in the original printed wrapper. A bit of marginal foxing on most of the lithographs, else FINE AND BRIGHT. Housed in a board portfolio with ties, back with cloth. A pristine set, and extremely rare.

Eight aphorisms by William Cole, illustrated with nine beautifully executed original woodcuts by Damon Lehrer, eight of which are full-page, signed, and numbered (the other one is on the title-page.) One of fifty copies on Arches cover buff paper, from a total edition of 89. The most ambitious project ever undertaken by The Bow & Arrow Press at Harvard University. The are copies of this book in the Boston Public Library, the New York Public Library, the Dartmouth College Library, and the Houghton Rare Book Library at Harvard University, among others. Loose as issued in original wraps. Small folio. Fine and bright; like new.

Paris: Galerie des Peintres-Graveurs, 1927. Text by Marc Lafargue in five languages, and FOUR ORIGINAL SIGNED AND NUMBERED LITHOGRAPHS BY MAILLOL, HERE PRESENT IN TWO STATES EACH (8 signed lithographs in all), in black and in sanguine, printed on fine Montval paper. From a total edition of 125 copies, this is COPY "B", ONE OF ONLY 25 LETTERED COPIES WITH THE LITHOGRAPHS IN BOTH STATES. Guérin 267, 271, 272, and 274. From the collection of Nelson Rockefeller, onetime U.S. vice-president and owner of a great collection of modern art (his book plate on inside front cover). Rockefeller sold this suite to Sylvan Cole (1918-2005), dean of American print dealers. The lithographs, of female nudes, are among the artist's largest and most important. Paris: Honore Champion, 1933. A charming collection of Norman religious legends associated with different times of the year, especially holidays. Woodcut illustrations by Jean Gay, printed hors-texte on fine Madagascar wove paper. All original tissue-guards present. Text printed within a border on fine laid paper. Small 4to, original decorated boards. Uncut. Very minor soiling and spotting to boards. Internally fine.

Paris?, c. 1915. A UNIQUE SKETCHBOOK WITH ORIGINAL DRAWINGS (including several spectacular ones on color) BY SEVERAL OF THE MOST NOTED CARICATURISTS OF THE BELLE EPOQUE AND THE FIRST WORLD WAR, including SEM, CARAN D'ACHE, and HENRI FOURNIER. 40 leaves, almost all of which with drawings on both sides. Many of the drawings are unsigned (some are by Lafosse himself), but among the signed ones are several by Sem, Caran d'Ache, and Rola, and one by Fournier. A couple of leaves detached (but present), else very good. Unique and important.

Paris: Henri Floury, 1898. ONE OF THE FIRST AND ONE OF THE GREATEST MODERN ILLUSTRATED BOOKS, WITH 20 ORIGINAL FULL-PAGE HORS-TEXTE LITHOGRAPHS BY HENRI DE TOULOUSE-LAUTREC. First edition of the text by Georges Clemenceau about the condition of Jews in Poland. Illustrated with 10 lithographs by Toulouse-Lautrec printed in black on Arches wove paper, with an additional suite printed in various tones on Chinese paper. The wraps, furthermore, are an original color lithograph: the front cover shows Moses receiving the Ten Commandments; the back cover shows the Golden Calf deposed from its pedestal (and is colored with gold ink). From a total edition of 380 numbered copies, this is one of 355 on fine Arches wove paper. 4to.
