"In the summer of 1987, after learning of the struggle for life that faced him, George received an invitation to present a poem at the Merbad Poetical Festival in Bagdad, Iraq... In September George completed his last work, the poem Resurrection, which will be read at the Bagdad festival this week by a friend.
