Painful Pleasures

By Anonymous

London: Delectus Books, 1995 A fascinating miscellany of relentless spankomania comprising letters, short stories and true accounts. Originally published in New York 1931, Delectus have produced a complete facsimile, with an introduction of Michael R. Goss, complemented by the beautiful art deco line illustrations vividly depicting punishment scenes from the book. Both genders end up with smarting backsides in such stories as The Adventures of Miss Flossie Evans, and, probably the best spanking story ever written, Discipline at Parame, in which a stern and uncompromising disciplinarian brings her two cousins Elsie and Peter to meek and prompt obedience. An earlier section contains eight genuine letters and an essay discussing the various merits of discipline and corporal punishment. "The writing is of the highest quality putting many of the current mass-market publishers to shame, and Delectus into a class of its own." Forum. "An extraordinary collection.as fresh and appealing now as in its days of shady celebrity. especially brilliant.another masterpiece.a collectors treasure." Paddles. "An American S&M classic." The Bookseller. "Sophisticated.handsomely printed.classy illustrations. beautifully bound." Desire. "For anyone who delights in the roguish elegance of Victorian erotica this book is highly recommended." Lust. "A cracking good read." Mayfair.. Signed by Publisher. First U.K. Edition. Hardcover.
