She studied painting in London and then settled in Chania; it was the period that the English archaeologist Evans brought to light the treasures of the Minoans at Knossos, which deeply influenced and inspired her; she conceived the idea of drawing Minoan themes for the first time and using them in Cretan handicrafts, connecting the local tradition and cultural heritage of Crete with the ancient art of weaving. She used the wonderful Minoan patterns in weaving and organized a weaving workshop, which has been an unprecedented success since 1922. Minoan Crete revived on handicrafts, textiles, curtains, dresses, tablecloths, bags, handkerchiefs, etc. Her workshop: 200 women! This book contains working drawings from her personal archive and it was published by the Greek Organization for the Promotion of Weaving Art.
