Washington DC: Federal Civil Defense Administration, 1952. 8vo, 34 pages, saddle-stapled wraps. One of a series of Civil Defense pamphlets issued during the Cold War, this one directed towards engineers and architects. Your purchase of this pamphlet helps fund construction of the new DL bunker. Very good with some light creasing and slight fading to extremities of wraps.

Amsterdam: Aktiegroep Nieuwmarkt, 1975. Nos. 1-4, 6-21. Foolscap format, nos. 1-3 crimp-bound at left margin, later issues either stapled once at upper left hand corner, or folded, unbound sheets. Text in Dutch. A nearly complete run, lacking only the 5th number, of this impassioned underground periodical which bracketed the Nieuwmarkt Riots [Nieuwmarktrellen]. The riots protested the forced condemnation and eviction of buildings to construct the Eastern Metro, hence the striking drawing of a death's head train driving out of the cover of the first issue. On 24 March 1975, later known as Blue Monday, extensive riots broke out with police to protest the demolitions. While the demolitions continued, future plans for other metro lines were abandoned. The pages of Nieuwmarkt Dagblad capture the blow by blow intensity of those days, with striking artwork, cartoons, and photographs of the riots. Very good with scattered creasing and toning.

London: Published by Coin Street Action Group, 14 Baylis Rd, SE1, On Behalf of Communities in Paddington, North Southwark, Covent Garden, Kings Cross, & Spitalfields, 1977. 16 x 23 1/2" poster, silkscreened in black and red. A strikingly designed poster by the Coin Street Action Group, featuring a person - their body composed of a street map of the area - about to be struck by a falling tower. The Coin Street Action Group began in 1977 in response to development proposals in the area, including what would have been Europe's largest hotel at the time. The campaign was successful, and in 1984 thirteen acres of the area were purchased by the group for community development. Several heavy creases, with wheatpaste residue to verso from being posted, else very good and bright.

An offprint from the adventurous and longrunning periodical Streven, devoted to the arts and architecture, devoted to an essay on Synergetic architecture, including reproductions of works by Buckminster Fuller, Vasarely, Paul Virilio, Le Corbusier et al. Very good with some light toning and creasing, and a small stain to cover.
