With zine - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2", [14] pp, photomechanically reproduced on rectos only and stapled once at the upper left hand corner, with information on each band. Industrial and avant-garde comp featuring Savage Republic, Schlafengarten, HAters, Sleepless Knights, Dreamhouse, The Psychological Warfare Brank, Theatre of Ice, Smersh, Girls on Fire, F/i, Chris Gross, Abstact Belief, and Youth Hostel. Great comp. Casette visually nm, spot play tested and plays fine. Insert vg++ with a touch of the usual fading. Snapcase scuffed. Zine fine. Scarce with the zine.

New York: New Directions, 1959. First edition. 8vo, 246 pp, bound in blue cloth. Illustrated dust jacket designed by Donn Devita. Association copy, inscribed by Rexroth at the first blank in the year of publication to Charles Richards: "Happy Birthday Dear Charles. Kenneth Oct '59." A good association - Charles Richards and and his wife Janet were friends of Rexroth, and an important part of the California jazz scene. Janet chronicled some of this milieu in her underappreciated memoir Common Soldiers. This collection includes Rexroth's essay "Some Thoughts on Jazz as Music, as Revolt, as Mystique." Near fine, with some light fading to extremities of cloth, a couple small stains, and a touch of dustiness to the edges of the text block, in a very good dust jacket lightly chipped and nicked at extremities with a couple small closed tears.

San Francisco: Blank Expression, 1986. 4to, [8] pp. [incl. covers], saddle-stapled. Unnumbered issue of this San Francisco fanzine, featuring interviews with Flying Color and General Public, and reviews of a Savage Republic show in LA, etc. OCLC locates no holdings. Minor creasing to tips else fine.

np: Qwest Records, 1985. 2 7/8 x 7 3/4" sticker, printed in two colors. With backing intact, with release dates and other information about the release printed on backing. Lightly toned at verso, else a fine example.

Versailles, PA: McCheese Enterprises, 1974. First edition. 4to, photo-mechanically reproduced and side-stapled. Addressed by hand and postmarked on back cover. Debut issue of the proto-punk music fanzine devoted to late 1960's rock music. This issue takes a rather indepth dive into the history of Ultimate Spinach, some on Autosalvage.... "Fine debut here, with feature coverage of Ultimate Spinach (yeah , really!) Autosalvage and other late '60s trivia." - Greg Shaw, in BOMP 13. Some light overall creasing. Very good.

France: Sordide Sentimental, 1992. First edition. Catalog No. SS MCD 004. Mini CD in card folder, tipped into a large folding color poster also housing a leaflet with release info. One of a limited numbered edition of 1000 copies, this being copy no. 73. CD is NM. Card slip shows some soiling (as issued?). Poster and leaflet near fine. The original plastic bag still has the label sticker in gold affixed, and is very good with some creasing and cloudiness.

Willamantic, CT: De-Evolutionary Times, 1981. 4to, [25] pp, photo-mechanically reproduced. Side-stapled. A remarkable early 80's connection between the poetry and post-punk zine scenes, this little known post punk fanzine edited by the poets George Butterick, and Ed Kaplan. A fascinating zine, dense and text heavy with no illustrations other than the front and back covers. As well as ton of record reviews, this issue also features in depth interview wtih the Buzzcocks and Athletico Spizz. Staples a bit oxidized, back cover with a long vertical tear separating it from the lower two staples, but still holding to upper staple. Good only, but scarce - we didn't know that this zine even existed until ten minutes ago. OCLC locates holding at only two institutions.

Warrington, PA: Die, Evan Dando, Die Magazine, 1994. 8vo, saddle-stapled wraps. With a prospectus for the zine laid in. One of about 200 copies printed. . A rare first printing, mailed to a fellow fanzine editor, of one of the 90's zines that brought mainstream attention to the zine scene - for better or worse. Die, Evan Dando, Die was the brainchild of Jeff Fox, who had made the great parody zine Maximum Rock n' Raoul. As covered in Entertainment Weekly and other mainstream venues, Fox made only 200 copies of the zine initially, but after a deluge of fan mail and death threats and coverage in all sorts of magazines he made another 800 copies and distributed them nationally, at Tower Records and other venues. New York: Victory Music, 1991. 4 7/8 x 14" sheet, letterpress printed on card stock and folded once. Designed by Bruce Licher and Brother Awest, and printed by Licher. The striking and beautiful invitation to the release party for the second album from David Bowie's Tin Machine, and the first release from the fledgling label which would go bankrupt about three years afterwards. The invitation is notable for featuring one of the unaltered Kouroi statues similar to the cover of the album, which had been censored in the US for featuring male genitalia. Fine.

London: Novello, 1964. First edition. 4to, 36 pp, saddle-stapled wraps. Signed by Robert Duncan at the title page. The opening phrase of the prologue to the piece is based upon Robert Duncan's line "Often I am permitted to return to a meadow," taken from The Opening of the Field. A scarce Duncan-related publication, especially signed. Very good with a short closed tear to foot of front wrap and some fading to spine.

Lisboa: Livraria Guimaraes, 1903. First edition. 8vo, 270 pp, rebound at a contemporary or early date in marbled boards backed in red leatherette titled and banded in gilt. Original wraps not present. Illustrated with 13 photographs and drawings. Text in Portuguese. Previous owner's early and tasteful typographic bookplate to fep, as well as a small bookseller ticket (from Encadernador Alfredo David in Lisboa). Light smudging, toning and foxing within; boards well-rubbed and battered, with snags at the crown. A battered, worn, good only example, but complete aside from the original wraps, and scarce in any condition. The first edition of the first published book length study of Fado, "still a valuable source for fado historiography, especially when addressing the relationship between popular music and national character and how the vernacular was appropriated." - [Silva, p. 166]. One of "around 3000 copies" designed and printed by Bruce Licher at the Independent Project Press. The stamps were issued in at least four different colors; this is the red and white stampsheet, with the card folder letterpressed in red and orange. Fine.

Later issue of one of the most influential and longrunning organs of the underground press. This issue includes photographs from the Oz protests, Jody Breslaw on the apocalypse, "William Blake and the Druids" by Joy Farren, "The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz" by William Stok, a full page appeal against the extradition of Paul Rudolph of the Pink Fairies, and more. folded once, with light toning - a supple very good copy.

Artists' publication issued in conjunction with the rare cassette on signal (cassette sadly not included here). With sheets dedicated to the Legendary Pink Dots, La Fondation, and Section 25, and also texts by J.P. Turmel, Bataille, Baudelaire et al. The Section 25 sheet also has a discography and videography. Bent, creased, and nicked at upper margins, else about very good.

The debut catalog for the distro focusing on independently released music, from A Produce to Scratch Acid. Descriptions of most releases and a couple special features, a remarkable document of independent music at the end of the 1980's. Very good.

Superb French avant-garde music fanzine with lots of great graphic art and comics, which was related to the Antenne accidentelle show on Radio-Tele Chatenay. This issue features a fantastic interview with Jeffrey Lee Pierce of the Gun Club (in French) which we've never seen before, 2 pages of fanzine reviews, the comic strip Xudule Annee O by Drederic & guillaume Libert, Videomania, and more.
