The gilt and color if the cover board design is almost entirely rubbed away and lost, though the gilt designs to the spine are reasonably bright and complete. Light to moderate mottling / soiling to cloth of the upper board; heavier mottling and damp staining to the surface of the rear board. Light shallow damp line to the bottom edge of the last 1/3 of the pages. Foxing and spotting to the very generous margins of most of the pages; the sepia toned reproductions of the Cox plates are generally clean and undisturbed by the margin spotting.
