In 40 Jahren Um Die Erde - Abenteuer Und Erlebnisse Eines Schweizer Kasers

By Steffen, Albert

Langnau I.E.: Emmenthaler-Blatt AG., 1950. Hard Cover. Very Good Minus/No Jacket. Heavy tan cloth with brown titles. Minor edgewear and cornerwear, light soiling to covers. Text appears to be in German although published in Switzerland. This singularly unique copy has what appears to be a personalized inscription and signature from Albert Steffen under his photo on the frontispiece, but the endpapers and blanks have been further adorned with actual taped in photographs of the Steffen family, captioned in a very shaky elderly hand. There is a full family photo of Albert, Poly and Nancy on the pastedown, a single of Nancy on the FFEP, photos of the captioner's visit to the family and what appears to be a brewery or a bakery. Text is lightly browning, with one page of pencilled notations in the same hand as the captions. Binding solid, but with a couple of signatures showing through at webbing (near b/w photo plates published with the book). 264 pp, some b/w photos bound in at intervals from the publisher. An interesting biography of what appears to be an extremely well traveled gentleman. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
