The subtitle continues."and intended to convey just ideas of the form and structure of the Earth, the principal phenomena affecting the outer crust, the distribution of plants, animals, and man upon the surface; together with its present political divisions." Bound in green cloth backed with black leather; spine titles stamped in gilt. Corresponding 1855 dates to the title and copyright pages; no additional printings. 342 pages with folding map present. Ownership inscriptions from 1855 and 1864 penciled to the front free endpaper, otherwise unmarked. The paper shows no foxing or toning. The cloth shows mild edgewear and fading with slight frays at the lower corners. The leather is worn at the joints, especially near the spine ends, but is not cracked through. Hinges solid. binding square. A clean, tight copy.

This catalog has 42 pages plus photos and advertisements. Tightly bound, clean and unmarked. In reviewing the different course degrees offered, Classical, Scientific, or Commercial, they all have one thing in common - the student was going to take several years of Norwegian language study and also Norwegian history.
