Wrappers spotted and soiled and lightly creased, with a small chip at the foot of the spine; cheap pulp paper browned, but supple; in good to very good condition.

Original color pictorial wrappers (7 x 4.75 inches), 192 pages. Frontis, three plates.

A pot-boiler set in Mexico with a mysterious orphan, an assortment of robbers and bandits, disguises worthy of a cut-rate Shakespearean comedy, a kindly friar, and a villain who meets his fate between the jaws of a hungry shark.

Issued in a series published by Ogilvie of cheap novelizations of popular plays, with ads on the rear wrapper for 68 titles in that series, "for sale by Newsdealers and Booksellers everywhere, or they will be sent by mail, postpaid, to any address for 25 cents each, or any five books for $1.00."
