Chosen to Salvation : Select Thoughts on the Doctrine of Election

By Nettleton, David

Schaumburg, IL, U.S.A.: Regular Baptist Press, 1983. Book. Very Good. Soft cover. 6" x 9". PB, 180 pp., Very Good. Pages clean & unmarked, not yellowed. Binding tight. Prev. owner's name on inside cover; lower corner of front cover is a little bent; minor edgewear. Overall, a quite nice copy! Foreword by Ernest Pickering. The author strongly defends the biblical doctrine of unconditional election. In addition to exegeting the relevant Scriptures, he provides very extensive quotations from a wide range of theologians, Bible teachers, & church leaders -- including many Dispensationalists & Regular Baptists -- showing how widespread agreement is on this doctrine. He also responds effectively to allegations that belief in sovereign election undermines evangelism, or that those who teach election are "hyper-Calvinists." Finally, he makes an urgent plea for mutual godly respect among Christians who disagree on the nature of divine election. Dr. Nettleton served as president of Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa, & later as pastor of Parsippany Baptist Church in New Jersey. Highly recommended!.
