HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents a FIRST EDITION STATED of LADY WITH A SPEAR by EUGENIE CLARK. "Book of the Month Club selection," with BCE review by Clifton Faddiman laid in. 36 b&w photos midway through book. 5 1/2" x 8 3/8", 243 pages, with original dust jacket. Book (very good plus) has green 1/4 cloth over yellow boards, with slight bumping at top/bottom of spine and corners, pages slightly tanned, old price, small owner signature and small owner stamp first fep, some light staining to photos, no other marks, clear, sharp, square, tight. Original dust jacket (very good) = yellow, green, black and white particulars, brief book description, and 3 photos of author "in action" on front, head shot of author on back; minor chipping and rubbing to jacket. Jacket flap has more complete description of the book highlighting the "16 pages of photographs" and "decorations by the author." Noted appraiser James Beattie has valued this copy at $60.00.

Unclipped original dust jacket preserved in original condition by apparent original plastic protector, to which is taped "SIGNED EDITION." Navy blue cloth boards with gold gilt particulars on spine only. Book is pristine, bright white pages, no marks of any kind, sharp, tight, few smudges on top and bottom edges. AS NEW. Original unclipped jacket has navy blue framing photo of ship and sailors front, promos of the book rear, with particulars in gold gilt, blue, black and white on front and spine. AS NEW/AS NEW. Noted appraiser James Beattie has assigned the value $135 to this book.

Cover (cloth boards with particulars and middle eastern border design in gold) = tight, slightly worn corners, former library appurtenances, top and bottom/spine folded.
