Northfield, MA: American Youth Hostels, 1947. 1st . Paperback. Good. First printing. 64 pp., photos, maps, etc., small, square softcover, about 4.5" X 6.5". This copy was owned by head of the Canadian Youth Hostels Association, Great Lakes Region, and bears his ownership signature. Also included is a three page printout detailing US Customs & Immigrantion rules for Canadians, stapled inside the front cover. Rare and interesting item. Quite a bit of wear, especially to the covers, but complete item with staples holding. Modest "old book" odour.

Xii, 476 pp., many photos, frontis with tissue guard, 4 maps all present, including one folding, index, thick octavo, original black cloth with gilt decorations, teg. Fair copy with ffep excised, binding a bit shaken. Cloth faded at spine and worn at tips. Still a good useable, original copy with all contents.

Text is Nearly Fine with no significant flaws, just light wear and a gift inscription between diplomatic families who were stationed in The Hague in the late 50s. Dust jacket has light edge-wear and a few tears. A solid Nearly Fine/VG copy.

Large folding road map of Italy, about 36" X 26", large-scale very detailed map with driving distances between towns, etc. Nicely produced in stiff covers with the TCI logo etc. Map is in superb condition, stiff covers are lightly worn. Since this is an older paper item there is a modest "old paper" musty odor.

Pp. xxiii, 462, frontis plate with tissue guard (view of Seoul), 21 illustrations, 26 plates and maps, plus folding color map at rear, bibliography, original blue cloth over beveled boards, with attractive gilt decorations and spine titles. A very attractive copy with no serious flaws. Hinges are intact and firm, cloth and gilt bright and not significantly faded, slight wear to fore-tips, not really worn through, short pull-tears to spine-ends, with slight loss to cloth at head of spine (under 1/4"). Internally there is no owner's name or other markings to text, except for a tiny "#31" to the top corner of the title page. There is no loss or significant wear to the large rear folding map except for a large tear near where it is bound in. A superb copy overall. Quite scarce to find one in this condition since most are ex-library and heavily read.

Only real flaw is that top-edge of a few pages poorly opened with slight roughness, barely visible. Price-clipped dj has light edge-wear, a couple of short edge-tears.
