When did you get started in bookselling?

When I retired, I started brokering a few books for my local library friends groups. My current inventory is at over 1500 books. I make the local public libraries a lot of money each year to put toward new books and programs. Occasionally, I sell books for persons other than nonprofits, too.

What drew you to bookselling?

I have a Master's Degree in Library Science and have always loved and respected books.

What are your specialties as a dealer?

Text books and nonfiction.

What's the most amazing book you've ever sold?

A book about training in the Civil War that went to an ancestor of the author.

What is your favorite part of being a bookseller?

Mailing books all over the world.

What is your favorite bookshop (other than your own)?

The used bookstore at my local library.

What do you personally like to read? Collect?

Everything -- fiction, nonfiction, sci-fi, romance -- a lot of police procedurals, too.

What's your favorite book you personally own? Would you sell it, if the price were right?

To Kill a Mockingbird.

What one book would you buy if price were no object?

Original 'Gone with the Wind."
