When did you get started in bookselling?

I got started writing and selling my books in 2008. Since I have had tihs press release Los Angeles-Long Beach-Barstow, CA (PressRelease) October 21 2018 - Author and public speaker, Netheldia S. Porter has issued her latest release, "Something To Think About" and "Exceptional Child"- a true story, has received accolades from critics across the globe. Addictions, child molestation, jail, rape and more has been the reason for her writing these two books. In her books "Something To Think About" and "Exceptional Child", it is said that Netheldia has touched many lives by incorporating inspiration and motivation from her personal life and true events. Critics say incorporating her real life stories have helped many people since it makes it easier for them to relate. Critics went on to say the books are written with an intention to help people grasp the understanding of them from a spectrum of social classes and aid those who want to get rid of their life problems. One critic stated the message can be comprehended by an adolescent yet is strong enough to capture the attention of an adult. Book critics have gone to say, "the books provides excellent motivation and inspiration; and also exudes a positive energy to the reader which could make the life of the reader turn around. She goes on to say, "Life is complex. Every now and then we are challenged by trials, tribulations, tests, and disappointments, which certainly bogs a person down and hence result in breaking the spirit of a human being." It has been said these books gives a clear direction to people battling with life. She states it as "life with a goal and destination. Everyone has the right to chase their dreams and emerge victorious. The books also teaches ways to handle and treat unseen huddles in one's life. "

What drew you to bookselling?

I was drawn to write and sell book while I was teaching men at the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center. The teaching was so explosive and saved many of the men from recommitting their crime. The teaching kept them from being re arrested and sent to prison. So I decided to put the teaching in writing. They I got an inspiration to write me life story. I am 53 years old and I live in Barstow California but I'm from Long Beach California. I am a retired Social Worker for the County of San Bernardino. Sadly, I was molested as a child beginning at the age of 4. I began abusing alcohol and drug when I was 9 years old--a lifestyle that took me down many avenues in which I would not wish on my worst enemy. Gracefully, I have been off drugs for 24 years now and I know that God has a special plan for my life. I am the author of two books “Something To Think About” and “Exceptional Child”. I wrote Exceptional Child because I wanted to tell my true story in the “raw”--This book is not for kids and for mature audience--18+.Its about child molested, rape, jail, drug and more. I wrote "Something To Think About because I wanted to speak boldly to people who struggle with all kinds of addictions drug, alcohol, food, sex, gambling and more because some people think that there is no hope, and they will live like that forever–they are so wrong. I am living proof that a person can recover and live a fruitful life. If God helped me, he’ll help anybody. My books are designed to speak to people who suffers from life, in a language that they can understand. No big words to figure out, just straight and to the point. Remember–if you fall get back up-- because life happens!
