Beautifully hand colored frontispiece engravings with dozens of unique freehand watercolors throughout including several small landscapes, objects and figural paintings. Missing volumes from the complete set but composed here of 9 works in 5 volumes in custom binding. Full, black leather with embossed emblems and spines. Backsides of covers are decorated with white leather and monograms and endpapers are composed of cream colored silk. Hinges are worn but intact. Some scuffs to binding here and there. Pages are clean and unmarked. A very special set of one of a kind books and a beautiful example of early book art.

Late 19th century patterned boards in green and cream with black leather spine labels. Binding lightly scuffed and worn, each has an accession sticker on front pastedown and museum stamps on each title page. A few hinges are broken but covers are not detached. A beautiful and rare set.

This is a hard to find edition. It is large and thick, beautifully printed, and contains some of Rackham's best work. Spine's cloth is split on one side and there is wear to the top and bottom of the spine. There are a few marks on the covers and the corners are a bit bumped. Pages are clean and unmarked, plates and tissues guards are all present, and binding is tight.
