Description:
Boston: Massachusetts School of Art, 1937 Photos of graduating students & faculty members plus group shots, articles, yearbook memorabilia. Of particular interest are the illustrations - artwork of senior class members reproduced in black and white, including 2 small reproductions of paintings by Robert Grady. The photo of Costume Design student Florence Filene is captioned "A smart young executive who always hires M.S.A. graduates for assistants." That, coupled with a student-designed ad used by Wm. Filene's Sons Co. hints that Florence may have been from the famous retail family. An unusually clean yearbook: a few pencil marks next to certain faculty photos, otherwise unmarked. Front endpapers are soiled at edges and the last few leaves have small dampstain at thumb edge. All other pages are clean. Cover is rose-colored printed paper over boards with a cloth spine strip. Some fade to the gilt spine lettering, edges lightly rubbed and small area discoloration along bottom edges. Dust… Read More
