This is a heavily illustrated land and tourism promotional for Bisbee in and around Bisbee, Arizona and its surrounding area. The book has 31 photographic images with highlights including a panoramic shot of Bisbee that stretches across the top half of the two center pages and a nearly half page panorama of the town of Warren. A few images show street scenes in Bisbee, while several depict camp, resort, and ranch sites in surrounding areas. The rear cover is dedicated to images of Sonora, Mexico, just seven miles across the border "over a good road, and no formalities to cross the line." A rare photo book featuring eight half-tone illustrations of the Rocky Mountains (and one of the Garden of the Gods) opposite short essays and poems by bishops. Very good plus: bright with a faint vertical crease to wrappers and first and last few leaves, penciled note in the margin of one page. This promotional for Pasadena contains 16 full page photographic illustrations and a small map. It provides a brief history, touts the climate and transportation accessibility, and waxes on the city's educational opportunities and morals as it "was founded by an intelligent class of people and during the whole period of its history it has continued to draw unto itself residents of like character, until now it is distinguished as a city wherein the standard of intellectuality, refinement, morality, thrift, enterprise and similar qualities is exceptionally high." Images include railway stations, the Evanston Inn, Hotel Green and an Ostrich farm. OCLC locates four copies, all in California.

Pp. 16 + 17 tissue-guarded photogravure plates interspersed. Good due to wrappers heavily chipped at spine and lightly soiled; internally near fine with a bit of scattered spotting and creasing to interleaving tissue. This is a beautifully produced photo book which promotes settlement in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The book is filled with a total of 49 stunning photogravures on 17 leaves, many of which are street scenes showing the city's "Fine Business Blocks." Several images reveal industrial buildings in the process of construction and there are great bird's-eye views of the city. We see the Masonic Temple, the Norwegian Seminary and one outstanding full page shot of a trolley car with a background of bare trees. The book had three stated goals: to prove to grain and stock farmers of the Corn and Wheat belts that Florida was a more profitable place to produce; that it's a wonderful place to live; to promote the movers and shakers of the area. Dozens of photos accompany a detailed portrayal of the present economic circumstances, a history of Tampa, writeups on Kissimmee, Lakeland, Tarpon Springs, Winter Haven and more. This is a photo book documenting Vortex I: A Biodegradable Festival of Life which was a rock festival held at Milo McIver State Park near Estacada, Oregon in late summer 1970. 1970. With Nixon scheduling an appearance at the National American Legion convention in Portland, local counterculture groups came together to shine a light on their peace movement. That led to the idea of the festival, and they pitched it to the Oregon's state government as a way to funnel some of the possibly 50,000 antiwar protestors away from Nixon's appearance and facing off against a mass of up to 25,000 legionnaires.
