September 5, 12, & 19, 1960, each in original wraps, the first of which includes a portrait of the author, light general wear at issues, mailing labels noted, a clean, bright set overall, with a small crinkle noted at upper edge of portrait issue. The author's account of the 1959 bullfight season which included a head to head, or mano a mano, between brothers-in-law Antonio Ordonez and Luis Miguel Dominguin, who had come out of retirement, and who were both personal friends of the author. Scribner's would not publish the book until 1985. The first issue, at page 2, includes a short piece from the editor called Two Prideful Rivals and a Prideful Life, and the third issue reprints a cable from the Hemingway one year later, at page 96, that brings the careers of the two matadors up-to-date.
