Tastefully bound in recent half calf to style, with red morocco title label and marbled covered boards, very good. A very light damp-stain throughout, title page frayed and with a few old ink stains, partial loss of a word verso, following contents f., trimmed at head, (affecting part of 3 letters verso) and with a few ink stains 4 plates trimmed at outer margin, just touching image, final plate with a few ink stains verso, showing through to recto, a few short marginal tears, but a very good copy. Contemporary name in manuscript written to the fore-edge. Provenance: from the library of Sir Thomas Neame, with his bookplate. First issued in 1670 and due its practical nature the work soon became popular. This edition is the complete published, and the preface states that the supplement and appendix were added by S. G. (Samuel Gilbert, floriculturist and author). Henrey 245., Fussell p. 78. Scarce.. The Eleventh Edition. Half Leather. Very Good. 4to.
