Staple-bound pamphlet; printed buff wrappers; 22pp. Mild external wear; internally clean, tight and unmarked. A Very Good or better copy. Translation ("adapted for America") by Daniel De Leon (1852-1914) of Kautsky's influential Marxist treatise, extracted from the larger work "The Erfurt Programme," first published in German in 1892. De Leon's translation first appeared in 1894 and was reissued in a variety of formats over succeeding decades; this issue is in the People [sic] Library, a monthly periodical series issued by the SLP from 1899-1900.

All documents printed from typescript and side-staplebound in original mailing envelope addressed from Nada Mijanovich, a Chicago-based member of the SLP, to Bert Baxter, a Portland, Oregon, member, and SLP write-in candidate for Governor. Some wear and light toning to documents, envelope postally used and rather worn and soiled with some tearing, else a Very Good or better collection. Daniel De Leon named the 29-year-old Arnold Petersen his successor as National Secretary of the Socialist Labor Party shortly before his death in 1914. Printed thick card wrappers; 122pp. Binding flaw has resulted in an extra frontispiece, half-title and contents page to be inserted prior to the title page. Wrappers slightly stained on front cover; front hinge a bit messy over-glued as a result of the binding flaw, resulting in some tears to first leaf at gutter; Good and sound. Dannenberg was a member of the Workers International Industrial Union, a DeLeonist offshoot of the I.W.W., and editor of its short-lived organ First of May. The lectures and essays collected here were first published in The Radical Review in 1917 and 1918.
