Very good/good plus. Jacket quite edgeworn and spine faintly sunned, with some edge chips (mainly at head and tail of spine) -- but complete and overall still attractive; ownership name/address lightly inkstamped on half-title page. A tight, nice later printing of the fourth volume (first published 1947) in the 24-volume "Rick Brant Electronic Adventure" series. Lists to ninth title on inner flyleaf (1952, which dates this copy).

Boards rather edgeworn and slightly rubbed; a child-reader has crudely penned her first name across the rear endpaper and, by way of illustration, adds a large and simply single-color watercolor portrait of her smiling visage to inner rear flyleaf. A tight and decent later printing, with all appropriate points, of this early Seuss effort -- from the library of Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III (b. 1930) of Illinois. Uncommon. YOUNGER 22.

Tan cloth with black lettering and elaborate black and red pictorial stamping, pictorial dust jacket. vi, 120pp. Tissue-guarded frontispiece, 5 full-page plates (as called for). Very good/good plus. Blacked-out ownership signature on front pastedown; outer pages edges of a dozen leaves near center a bit roughed up; jacket a bit edgeworn and rather age toned, rubbed and soiled -- but complete, intact and overall still attractive. Early printing of this 1913 addition to Burgess's sizable "Bedtime Story-Books" series, tight and nice despite being loved. These early volumes were all reprinted umpteen times over many decades, but this early printing we date to circa 1919 since the rear jacket panel lists up to the 20th title in this series ("Ol' Mistah Buzzard," published 1919). Uncommon in the dust jacket.

Lavender cloth spine with gilt lettering and lavender paper over boards with gilt decoration, pictorial dust jacket. 64pp. Numerous illustrations. Fine/near fine. Handsome, tight first edition of this retelling of the ancient Greek fables, illustrated with Geisert's delightful engravings. Boldly signed and inscribed by him in black ballpoint on title page: "To Bud & Joan / Arthur Geisert / XI/II/MCMXCI."

New York: United States Book Company, 1890. Hardcover. 8vo. Grey cloth with gilt and black lettering and black, brown and gilt pictorial stamping. 246pp, (1p ad). Tissue-guarded frontispiece, illustrations, patterned endpapers. Good only. While decently tight and handleable, binding is quite edgeworn (more so at head and tail of spine) and rubbed, with inner hinges started but expertly, archivally strengthened, thus tight. Later printing of Munsey's first novel, an 1887 juvenile adventure by the influential magazine and newspaper publisher (1854-1925) who pioneered high-speed printing and pulp paper that made publications more affordable than ever -- and he also authored some adventures yarns such as this.
