Description:
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1925. Reprint . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. pp: 320. This is one of the author's later novels, written some three years before his death. The advertisement for Tracy's books on the rear cover name two titles that were published after 1925, the year 'The Black Cat' was published. This copy then, would have a publishing date later than 1925. This edition bears the Hodder & Stoughton name on the base of the jacket spine, on the base of the spine of the book, and on the title page. Information for the American and Canadian publisher can be found on the copyright page. The British edition in any early edition is quite scarce. This is a very good copy. As to condition; the front free endpaper has about a quarter sliced off the top. No doubt, an attempt to remove the owner's name. There is some soiling to the edges but remarkably little signs of wear to the boards. The spine ends are lightly… Read More

Description:
New York: Bobbs-Merrill Co., 1973. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. pp: 160. FIRST EDITION. Brian Coffey is one of many pseudonyms used by author Dean Koontz. This novel is the first in the series featuring Mike Tucker, a professional thief with a Robin Hood complex. This copy is very good in a very good dust jacket. The book has light shelf wear and a small mark at the base of the front board. The jacket has moderated edge wear, a half-inch closed tear, and a trace of an old price sticker on the front panel. Removing it would probably cause more damage than leaving it. The jacket shows the original $5.95 price.

Description:
London: Severn House Publishers Ltd, 1976. Reprint . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. pp: 279. The third in the series of novels featuring Henri Bencolin, Carr's first series detective. The series, consisting of five novels, involved the 'locked room', or 'impossible crime' type stories. This edition is a reprint of the 1931 first edition. Curiously, there seems to be fewer of this edition than the first. This edition first published in 1973 stopped production when the publisher went bankrupt. Severn House reissued the book in 1976 with a different jacket design. This is a very good copy with a one-inch stain on the fore-edge, and light soiling on the top edge. The dust jacket has some wrinkling that appears to have been caused by shrink wrap that was either too tight or on too long. There is a small internal stain from the red boards near the base of the spine. And, the price has been clipped from the base of the front flap… Read More

Description:
Franklin Center: Pen and Sword, 1976. First Edition Thus . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Kenneth Frances Dewey. pp: 441. Pebbled brown leather covered boards ruled and decorated in gilt, all edges gilt, satin endpapers, and ribbon marker. The novel was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Literature for 1968. Styron was a close friend of James Baldwin and drew inspiration from Baldwin's novel "Another Country" which depicted interracial romance in late 1950s New York from the perspective of both black and white characters. But in the broader African-American intellectual world, the novel was widely condemned. A group of ten black intellectuals roundly condemned the novel for its presumption that a white man could understand a black man. This is a near fine copy with very light marking to the gilt fore-edge.

London: Macmillan & Co., 1958. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. pp: 250. FIRST BRITISH EDITION. A novel of a war hero, killed near the end of the war, and a secret wife, known where she lived as 'The Irish Witch'. The author led an adventurous life as a war correspondent during World War II. He was torpedoed in the Mediterranean (his ship not him exclusively), and was one of three correspondents who liberated Mont-Saint-Michel. The book is in very good condition, but just so. The green cloth covered boards are bumped at the spine. The top edge is mottled. The jacket has spots of foxing more visible on the inside than outside of the jacket. Elsewhere, there is moderate edge wear, and a couple of short tears.
