A collection of prose work, some reminiscent of prose poetry, others essay-like in form, recalling personal interactions and musings. Theodore Enslin was an American poet, residing primarily in Maine, and known for his somewhat avant-garde approach to poetry. GOOD+ condition. Uneven fading and minor soiling to the covers. Some curling and creasing to the corners. Several pages bumped and creased at the top corner.

Several areas of staining and discoloration to the rear cover. Minor fraying and scuffing along the extremities. Heavy toning to the text block, with the paper being somewhat brittle. Gift inscription in pencil on the first endpaper.

Portland: S.H. Colesworthy, Publisher, 1838. Pamphlet. Good. Pamphlet, lacking any wrappers issued, and perhaps disbound from a larger work. Iv, 88 pp (Wright, American Fiction, 1774-1850 indicates this has 90 pages, but text appears complete). A religious parable, charting the author's transition from beliefs in Partialism, through Methodism and finally to Universalism, citing the many "hazards" along the way. Called "an imaginative inversion of Bunyan's own allegory," (The Oxford Handbook of John Bunyan, p. 598). GOOD condition, ex-library. Blindstamp and a few other minor library markings present. Name of publisher handwritten in ink on the title page. Ink word on the last page of text. Minor to moderate soiling and staining to the outer pages, with moderate scattered foxing throughout. Perhaps missing a last leaf.

While admiring the work of the second generation of New York School poets, Fagin published a variety of poets over the life of the magazine. This issue with work by Fielding Dawson, Anne Waldman, Clark Coolidge, Ron Padgett, John Wieners and others. GOOD condition. Covers toned, with some soiling and dark scuffs. Some creasing at the staples. Minor edgewear. Clay and Phillips, 194-197.

New York: S.H. Moore. Wraps. Good. no date, presumed circa 1885. Side folding newspaper style format. 16 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches. With a center horizontal fold. 8 pp. Illustrations of various premiums and products, including teaspoons, casters, jewelry, watches, an American galvanic battery, White Mountain potato and apple peelers, etc. A paper advertising for agents to sell the periodical 'The Cricket on the Hearth,' and 'Cottage and Farm,' as well as the various aformentioned products. This includes terms, details on selling, etc. With Large bold lettering at the top first page, declaring 'How to make money! How to get rich!' GOOD condition. Somewhat prominent stain affecting the upper left corner, about 5 inches of area, and bleeding through to the bottom corner of the last page where the folded sides meet. Mostly minor foxing and toning to the paper, heaviest to the first page. Minor soiling. Three vertical fold creases present, with a few minor tears along the extremities at the creases.

Printed wraps. 32 pp. First issue of this little magazine focusing on literature of the South, including poetry and prose, with work by Norman Macleod, Jewell Miller and others. With a letter from the editor, Addison Hibbard, discussing and criticizing, the overuse of certain characters or themes in Southern writing, including stereotypical portrayals of African-Americans. GOOD condition. Heavy offsetting/darkening along the extremities, with moderate foxing. Some soiling and small areas of staining. Heavy pencil line at the front for edge, with a cursive l at the top left corner. Minor wrinkling and creasing along the extremities.

Illustrated wraps, with the front cover depicting a young woman in an automobile waving to a group of men playing football. 160 pp., plus many pages of ads. Single issue of this American literary magazine, that originated in 1897 as the Yellow Kid. At first the magazine focused on humor, but changed soon after to publish pulp, romance and other popular fiction. This issue with fiction by Ella Wheeler Wilcox and many others. GOOD condition. Heavy chipping, creasing and tearing to the wrappers along the extremities. Minor toning and soiling. Light toning in the interior.

Moran, R.E. Piguet, John A Hows, H.L. Stephens, L. Beckmann and others. In FAIR condition with the side-sewn binding very fragile and almost coming apart. Heavy darkening to the covers with minor scattered foxing and soiling. Minor tearing and chipping along the extremities with a noticeable 2 inch diagonal tear at the lower front cover fore edge. Scattered minor foxing and general darkening to the interior, with a few areas of staining/spotting present. These are mostly minor.
