New York State College of Agriculture at Cornell University, Department of Plant Pathology letterhead. A single page typed letter from Herbert Hice Whetzel to Fred Carleton Stewart. Whetzel expresses regret on missing a trip to the Adirondacks, and that he is too busy to get away for the rest of the year (his wife was apparently too ill to travel). Whetzel briefly mentions a collecting trip to Labrador Lake, and proposed meeting Stewart later that week. Herbert Hice Whetzel was a noted professor and researching in the field of plant pathology, being one of the first, as well as heading the department at Cornell.
