This is the rare and highly-sought after First book of poetry by renowned American poet Brigit Pegeen Kelly. Kelly's poems have since won many prizes but she was still relatively unknown when the great poet James Merrill chose this collection of Kelly's poems as the winner of the Yale Prize for the Series of Younger Poets. Merrill has written a warm and effusive introduction to these poems. Kelly has published only three books, this being the first, 'Song' was published in 1995, and 'Orchard' was published in 2004.
