Butte. MT.: Montana Hardware Co.. No date. Ca. 1935?. Paper model of a Flexible Flyer sled 3 ½ inches wide and approximately 6 ¼ inches in length. The model’s width shrinks when the steel runners are folded downward. The logo on the sled proper features an eagle astride a Flexible Flyer sled. Text on verso offers words of praise for the sled, including "the only sled for boys; the only safe sled for girls." Seven sizes are touted. An uncommon item; overall good clean condition. .

New York.: Remington Rand.. No date. Ca. 1958.. Vintage promotional booklet, 14 x 10 ½ inches, 24 pp. including color pictorial thin card covers. Glassine on front and rear covers is damaged, chiefly on the rear cover, with loss along the free edges. Color and black and white illustrations, with several pages at rear devoted to businesses, government, or military organizations that have adopted the Univac Electronic System in advancing their organization's agenda (U.S. Census Bureau, General Electric Company, etc). One page features a picture of the Unityper II - a modified electric typewriter that converted type strokes to pulse patterns recorded on tape. This machine was introduced in 1958, hence the dating of this booklet. Light damp stain at top margin, visible chiefly on white (versus colored) surfaces. An interesting vintage publication documenting state-of-the-art computer technology as it existed in the Eisenhower era. No copies are listed on WorldCat. .

Overall good clean condition. Map number VII from the "Report on Interoceanic Canals and Railroads between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans." Shows the route of a canal from the Gulf of San Blas to the Bay of Panama with the Mandinga River and the Bayano River; Profile at lower edge. .

Overall light wear to some covers with address stamped on back cover of each issue. January 30, April 4, August 7 and November 20 issues have very soiled / creased covers. Dampstaining to May 15 issue. Several magazines have a light vertical crease at the centre from folding for mailing. November 27 issue has loose centerfold. Overall very good condition. A fascinating view of popular culture and world events as World War II looms on the American horizon. Cover subjects include Joe DiMaggio, Bette Davis, Tallulah Bankhead, New York World's Fair, Neville Chamberlain, Anne Lindbergh, Eleanor Roosevelt, Annapolis Grads, Japan home guard, German Uboats and English self defense. Many color advertisements including Coca-Cola, automobiles, etc. .

Hymnal, 9 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches, 160 pp. Text on title page states: "contains a new selection of Sacred Songs, Duets, Anthems, Solos and Choruses; the latest productions of the authors, and now being used by the large Chorus Choirs in connection with Mr. Moody's evangelistic work." The three contributors to the volume are Ira D. Sankey, James McGranahan, and Geo. C. Stebbins. Index at rear. Former owner's name inscribed on front free end paper while rear cover shows water staining; however, apart from slight warp, volume's contents show minimal damage stemming from this issue. Pages clean and bright, binding tight, but condition overall must be judged less than good. In sum, an engaging collection of gospel music from the late 19th century; a useful addition to any collection with condition issues noted. .

On the verso is information relating to sightseeing, hotels, theatres, transportation, historical information and Filene's Personal Service. Tiny separation at one fold intersection, otherwise fine condition. Centered on the map is Filene’s Department Store located on a full block defined by Summer, Hawley, Franklin, and Washington Streets. A number of hotels are pictured on the map; also the Old North Church, the Custom House, Faneuil Hall, North and South Stations, the old and new State Houses, and other landmarks. Map is in very good clean condition and is signed below a crest containing the title etc. with the map-maker’s name,“Whitten.” Summary: Verso of map contains information relating to hotels, theatres, transportation, and “Highlights in the History of Boston.” No doubt a free souvenir for shoppers at Filene’s; no WorldCat listing found. A whimsical comical map of Boston produced by the Boston shopping mecca of Filene's Department Store, which is centred on the map on a full block defined by Summer, Hawley, Franklin, and Washington Streets. The map is schematic in nature, but several other landmark buildings are depicted including the Old North Church, the Custom House, Faneuil Hall, North and South Stations, the old and new State Houses, hotels along with comic references to historical events such as "Mrs (we forget her name) baked the first Boston Baked Beans here." Statistical Facts (1926) report the population of Greater Boston as of March 21, 1925. Map is signed below a crest containing the title etc. with the map-maker’s name, "Whitten." No doubt a free souvenir for shoppers at Filene’s; no WorldCat listing found. .
