Text on map states "Published by John Stockdale, Piccadilly, 16th March 1805. Engraved by J. Cary." Map is on two sheets (joined) measuring 16 ¾ x 22 ¾ inches and is closely cropped along the top border, with residue of library stamp in top left margin. Accompanied by 23 pp of text and a full-page black and white plate of antiquities signed by Fras. Cary, Sculpt. Map in very good clean condition. .

Map shows railways, names of stations, turnpike roads, telegraph lines and stations, etc. Included is an inset map of the Scilly Isles. Cover identifies map as designed for "cyclists & tourists." Cover is faded and slightly distressed. Map itself is in very good clean condition. An attractive item with delicate hand coloring. While published by Gall and Inglis, the map is evidently the final iteration of John Cary's Cornwall map of 1806. Map was issued folded. .

At rear of booklet an attractive color map, unfolding to 19 ½ x 10 ¼ inches, illustrating "motor roads, foot paths of interest, mountain streams," etc. Twelve pages informing "What there is to see at the different places," plus several pages of black and white photos. Several small spots at bottom of pp 1 thru 5 (of no consequence); edge wear to covers and small damp mark at bottom of front cover. Overall very good clean condition. Prominent on the map are the lines of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway as well as the Great Western Railway and the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, indicating that the map was produced prior to the nationalization of the country's rail lines on 1 January 1948, with the lines above becoming part of British Railways. Code at lower left corner of map reads 9247 (hence 1947 likely date of publication). Map, offering sharp delineation of the region, in very good clean condition. Folded map titled "Picture Map of Spain," in hardbound covers 9 ¾ x 8 ¼ inches, unfolding to colorful pictorial map 27 x 31 ½ inches comprised of 12 constituent segments mounted on linen. Text states Map and Decorations by Harold Haven Brown, Illustrated by Louise K. Goffe and Edited by Jane C. Watson and Carlos Castillo. The colorful pictorial map depicts both Spain and Portugal, while an inset map shows "Successive boundaries of Arab occupation in Spain from 711 until the final Moorish defeat in 1492." Colorful border illustrations include the Alhambra, the Alcantara Bridge in Toledo, The Cathedral at Barcelona, the Roman Aqueduct at Segovia, and many other landmarks. Except for the short marginal tear, map is in very good clean condition. An uncommon item; no WorldCat listing has been found. Full title on front cover of folder reads: "Here is a Pictorial Map Shewing the way about Cambridge." It is Map No. 1 in the series. Text blocks at bottom of map identify, through numeric and letter listings, "Colleges," "Churches," and "University and Town Buildings." .

Tiny holes from staple removal to centrefold, otherwise very good condition. This colorful pictographic map by J. P. Sayer features historical theaters, such as Theatre Royal Drury Lane, playwrights, actors and other interesting facts. Color illustrations of theatres on verso "Theatres of London during Two Centuries." It was included in the Strand Magazine as a "Survey of London" series. .

The map's title "Düsseldorf" appears in decorative lettering at the bottom of the map with, beneath it, (as translated from German) "Drawn May to October 1957 by Hermann Bollmann. Supplemented in 1972." On verso is an aerial map of the city and close environs. The brochure's text pages (in German) provide details relating to the city's history as well as information relevant to the contemporary tourist. Text on the first page of the brochure begins "Düsseldorf Im Fruhjar 1972" (Düsseldorf in Spring 1972). .
