The Brindles were Moravians from Alsace-Lorraine France and moved to America in 1738. They landed in Pennsylvania but moved to North Carolina shortly thereafter. In North Carolina they settled in Rowan and Surry Counties in the 18th century and spread to Lincoln County in the 19th century.
