Hardcover bound in green cloth and housed in a green slipcase. Moderate wear to the slipcase. There is some bubbling to the cloth near the top of the slipcase, and the slipcase is a little dusty. The books show just about no wear. A sound set with clean text. The second volume contains 144 plates. The first 16 plates are in color; the rest are black and white. A suburb production. Jacques le Moyne de Morgues (c.1533-1588) was a French artist who accompanied Jean Ribault's expedition to the New World, settling briefly in Florida in 1564 before disaster struck on multiple fronts. Most of Le Moyne's original drawings have since been destroyed, but many of the images were preserved in the engravings by De Bry. Le Moyne and about two dozen from the Florida settlement eventually made it back to England and then Paris in 1565-6.

The binding is worn and shows scuff marks and general soiling. In places the scuff marks are down to the board. Headcap is starting. Top edge of front and rear boards are quite scuffed and rubbed but the outside hinges are generally secure. Black label pastedown on spine has some vertical cracking and chipping. Spine is scuffed. Front gutter is mostly broken between the Title Page and the Preface and is connected to the text block by one cord. Rear gutter is secure. Text is toned with occasional smudging.

The top corners of the front flyleaves in all three volumes are torn away (apparently for the removal of a signature). Text shows foxing.
