Dust jacket is worn and rubbed with some tears and chips to the edges and spine caps; spine is darkened and rubbed along the edges. The inner flaps of the jacket are detached and held in place by the mylar sleeve. Hardcover binding shows light edge wear, and the text is clean and fresh. Contents are clean and bright. The front panel of the jacket shows the places in the American Southwest where the writer travelled: New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona. (The line goes through Idaho; we don't know if she travelled there or not). Part of the blurb on the rear panel of the jacket reads, "While the author sees with the trained eye of the ethnologist-- she has made a study of the customs and traditions of certain of our American Indians-- she commands a style full of grace and humor; her anecdotes illumine while they amuse.
