Text bright and crisp. A little foxing/toning to some plates. Wear and rubbing to extremities, a few nicks and scratches to the boards. A handsome, firmly bound set. Rare: One copy only recorded of this edition in JISC: held by the National Trust. Not in the British Library. Not listed in WorldCat.

A Brief Description and History of the Castle of Oystermouth by W. H. Jones FRGS 8pp. loosely inserted, with owner’s signature.

He was described by the poet R. S. Thomas as 'the supreme interpreter of Welsh life'. In his writings he explores the themes of Welsh identity.
