The author tackles the subject in 21 chapters each one dealing with a specific aspect of homiletics. Six page index at the back. Six principal themes are used and they are: God, Christ, The Church, The Holy Spirit in the Liturgy, The Holy Spirit in Human Conduct and Realities of Human Life. Fr. Thierry Maertens was (at the time of writing) a Benedictine monk from St. Andrew's Abbey in Belgium. Previous owners' names stamped on the first page of both volumes. The covers show moderate wear and scuffing while the interiors are clean and the bindings are sound. .
