A companion volume to the previously published "Traffic Lights: Safe Crossways into Modern Children's Literature from the Catholic Point of View". The book club, when it was operating, had a small office in the Empire State Building. The catalog is divided into several sections: For the pre-school child, For those under ten years, For boys and girls ten-twelve years, For boys and girls twelve-fifteen years, Boys and girls fifteen through high school, and lastly Christmas stories and poems. A comprehensive 18 page index of authors, subjects (sort of) and titles at the back. Library markings are a covered over stamp on the half title page, stamp and an inked note on the title page and pocket remains plus a thinned section on the inside of the back cover. Penciled marginalia is present next to several entries. The title is also hand lettered on the once blank spine. Mild wear to the covers and the binding is tight.; Ex-Library .

First published in 1952, this is the second printing from August of 1955. Several black and white illustrations by Geoffrey A. Mott, some by "P.R.W.", and a few by "A". The saints are: St. Christopher, St. Nicolas, St. Patrick of Ireland, St. Bridget, St. Hilda of Whitby, St. Edmund, St. Edward the Confessor, St. Geneviève of Paris, and St. Joan of Arc. A presentation plate for attendance, 1954-55, given to Arlene Smith is on the front free end paper. Otherwise the book is very clean with no discernible signs of wear. The dust jacket shows mild edge wear and most of that to the head edge and the spine is faded. A quite nice copy, all-in-all. .

This book has very mild wear to the externals with lightly rubbed board corners and spine tips. No soiling of any note and the lettering and art work is crisp and clean with no fading. Previous owner's name stamped on the front free end paper with a small square of clear tape below it. The text block head edge shows mild age darkening. Otherwise the book is very clean and tight. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. .
