The covers show some very light wear and the spine is faded. Signed by the author on first page (half title page) with an inscription to the previous owner who has writen his name on the bottom of the same page. The Christian Book Room (RBC) is China's oldest gospel-publishing ministry founded in the very early 1900's. Not all of the psalms have notes by Clare Willis though most do. The translation used throughout is that of the King James version with very occasional editorial changes as discussed in the author's introduction. Mild wear to the covers, otherwise clean with a tight binding. .

First published in German in1910 as "Einleitung in das Alte Testament" and translated into English by David E. Green. This translation was made from the tenth German edition which had in turn been completely revised and rewritten by Georg Fohrer. Six pages of bibliographic information at the front and a further 14 page bibliographic supplement at the back along with a 5 page index of scripture passages and a 4 page selective subject index. Previous owner's name stamped on the front free end paper and the title page, otherwise very clean with a sound binding and showing only mild wear to the spine tips. The dust jacket is mildly worn on the edges though more so at the spine crown which is chipped and creased. .
