This magazine is an example of the juvenile literature in late 19th-century America. The seventh issue of the first year (April 1, 1886) presents what purports to be a facsimile of a letter by Horation Alger Jr offering an (tepid? ) endorsement of the journal. The work contains a frontispiece illustration and title page vignette. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages.
