UK: Hamlyn Publishing Group Ltd., 1986. First Thus. Decorative Cloth. Very Good Minus/No Jacket. This compilation copyright 1986; book design by Robert Mathias, Publishing Workshop. 63 pages. Navy blue cloth boards, embossed design from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves on front cover. VG-, no DJ. Several small white smudges on front cover, bottom of spine is bumped and rubbed, corners rubbed. Last page is torn across and has been mended (regrettably) with cellotape. Front hinge loose. Inside fep is printed "Welcome Naomi Rae - The Forever Friends May, 1989". May have been a personalized copy. Apart from noted flaws the book is very nice and clean. Four longer stories and nine short nursery rhymes are illustrated with colour pictures taken from Victorian magic lantern slides produced by the London firm of W. Butcher & Son (Primus) from the collection of L. M. H. Smith. Introduction by Smith. A quite charming and unusual book, more for adults than children. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
