This book is in good condition. The cover boards have some wear on the front, Back and spine. The edges of the cover boards are also worn, and there is bumping on all corners of the cover boards. The pages are yellowed and tanned, but free of any markings. "The purpose of this dictionary is to simplify as much as possible and not to burden the reader with rules and exceptions of grammar, syntax, different word meaning and pronunciation. However, a remark about the transliteration is necessary. Generally the continental pronunciation of Roman spelling was used in order to convey the sounds of words belonging to languages with non-Latin Alphabets. Only for Russian the sound of the letter X which is gutteral, like ch in the name of the composer Bach, kh was adopted as commonly used.
