Rochdale,1994, pp. (8),157. Original card covers. Virtually as new. An excellent, well-illustrated history of this old district of Rochdale and a very different book from the original edition of some 20 years earlier.

Pride Books, 1982. Landscape format, 72 pages, card covers. Very good condition. The story of the famous Rochdale coach frirm Yelloway.

Rochdale, 1972. Original card covers, pp. (8), 80 with illustrations by C. Faulkner and D. Wilkinson. Very good condition.

Ashton,1842, pp. (2),177,v. Plain binder's cloth without lettering, tape repairs to first leaf of text, last page a bit marked. A sound working copy of a scarce title. Not to be confused with the book which his father James wrote on Ashton. Presentation inscription from John Ross Culthart, a prominent banker in Ashton to the Venerable Archdeacon Rushton.

Preston, 1888. Large Paper copy, 4to, pp. x,(2),296. With a folding map, plates and pedigrees. List of subscribers. Original cloth, spine a bit frayed at spine ends and a little rubbed and faded, but a good, sound, copy. Some foxing and browning of the first and last few pages. Inscribed "from the author" on half title.

Manchester, John Heywood, 1895 and 1901. Two volumes, complete. Original green cloth, top edges gilt. Volume one a little rubbed at corners and spine ends, inner hinges cracked, but still tight and sound. Volume two with small mark to foot of front cover, else excellent condition.Detailed reminiscences of police life in Manchester.

Ashton, Thomas Cunningham, 1823. Original boards with a modern paper spine and label to match. Page edges untrimmed. Board corners worn, else good, sound condition.

Clithroe Advertiser and Times, n.d. (c.1927) 4to, pp. 328, double column printed., with three pages of Errata et Corrigenda. Half calf with partially faded cloth sides. Spine worn and repaired and rather fragile, but otherwise tight and sound condition.

Selkirk, George Lewis, 1893, pp.xxx, 406, with 11 full-page illustrations and numerous illustrations in the text. Very good condition in the original cloth binding. The Grant Brothers of Ramsbottom were imortalised as the Cheeryble Brothers in Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens

London, Waldegrave,1963, pp. (8), 86, with numerous illustrations. A very nice, clean copy in excellent dust jacket.

Faber and Faber, 1951. First edition. Very good condition in dust jacket in a loose protective sleeve.
