Nice: Self published, 1957. Sixteen vintage photographs from the 1957 Cannes Film Festival. On the versos of 11 photos is a rubber-stamp for photographer "L. Mirkine," photographer "Pierre Manciet" on the versos of remaining 5, and names corresponding to the image subjects on the versos in manuscript ink. Housed in a manila envelope with "Festival 1957 Cannes" on the recto in manuscript ink. A rare appearance of Lou Costello without Bud Abbott, wherein a junk collector and inventor accidentally turns his girlfriend into a giantess. Glenn Ford's ambivalent character from "Gilda" is transplanted to a Western setting, placed against Van Heflin's warmer but still hard boiled persona, with unforgettable results. With printed mimeo snipes affixed to the verso, along with the stamp of Columbia Pictures. 20 survivors of a sunken luxury liner find themselves crowded onto a lifeboat fitted for 9 people, causing no small consternation as their food and water run out and a hurricane approaches. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, one with manuscript ink annotations on the right edge of the recto. Both photos with a serrated edge at the left margin from where they were once attached to a keybook tab.

About Very Good overall, silverfish damage to center right of top left panel with loss along crease, splitting in creases and some small closed tears at the extremities.

However, she only has eyes for her boyfriend Dick Erdman, who is on the lam from vengeful millionaire Rudy Vallee. 8 x 10 inches. Based on the popular 1928-1960 radio show, following the misadventures of two African Americans from Georgia as they try to make it in the big city. The radio show was created and voiced by white actors Charles J. Correll and Freeman F. Gosden, who had previously performed in the minstrel tradition.
