Included in the archive are 19 vintage black and white photographs (including 14 original photographs and 5 xerographically duplicated photographs), 2 manuscript design documents, 1 original blueprint and 1 xerographically duplicated blueprint for scoreboard designs, a sales brochure, and a newspaper page featuring a profile of a goose-themed specialty board designed by Tice for Miami Field. Five photographs show the boards in use throughout the US, in sports fields at the University of Alabama, Duke University, University of California, Loyola College, and in Tampa, Florida, accompanied by a small typescript cover letter on company letterhead introducing the set. A biography of famed baseball legend Babe Ruth, who was born in Baltimore and given to an orphanage there by his father. He soon demonstrates his amazing hitting ability and adopted by a scout who has him play for the Orioles until he is sold to the Red Sox, and consequently angers the owner and is sold to the Yankees, for whom he helps win the 1932 World Series. He is soon pushed out of the spotlight by Lou Gehrig and eventually sold to the Braves. At the end, a boy he met at the start of his career is all grown up and reminds him that Ruth is still his hero and that he's the best. Robert Aldrich's directorial debut, wherein a baseball scout at a New York Giants training camp in Florida evaluates prospective hopefuls for a minor league contract. Starring Edward G. Robinson in his first major role after being threatened with blacklisting by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). Shot on location in Melbourne, Florida. Inscription is readable but badly faded. Based on the 1952 novel by Bernard Malamud. A ridiculously great cast, an equally great novel, and a fine director in his prime helped make the adaptation of Malamud's timeless baseball novel into a sweeping success. Nominated for four Oscars, including Best Cinematography. Shot on location in Buffalo, New York. 10 x 8 inches. N.p.: N.p., 1948. Vintage oversize double weight photograph of actor and comedian Bob Hope about to score at a Dodgers benefit game, in 1948. With a newspaper clipping affixed to the verso, along with a date stamp reading SEP 5 1948 and the stamp of Graphic House Inc. crediting photographer Murray Garrett. Although Hope was a fanatical sports fan, the comedian was best known for his involvement in his hometown team, the Cleveland Indians. In 1946 Hope became a part owner of the Indians alongside investor Bill Veeck, and in the ensuing years would often show up at spring training and games to perform comedy bits. 11 x 14 inches. Very Good plus, slightly wavy, with a tiny manuscript pencil annotation to the bottom right corner.

N.p.: N.p., 1970. Vintage flyer for a concert held at the James Brown Motor Inn in Baltimore, 1970. Billed as "A World Series Special Show," the concert would have been held on either Saturday, October 10, in conjunction with Game One of the 1970 World Series (which itself took place at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati), or Saturday, October 17, to celebrate the Orioles winning the World Series in Baltimore the preceding Thursday. It's unclear when Brown, whose second wife was from Baltimore, purchased the motor inn, located at the intersection of Franklin and Paca Streets, but a 2006 "Baltimore Sun" article notes that it was closed in 1971 after "developing a reputation for rowdiness." Brown himself is not billed on flyer, which notes performances by the Johnny "Hammond" Smith Trio, comedian Clay Tyson, and appearances by "TV Star" John T. McPhee and "Tap Dancing Wizard" Vertis Johnson. 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Lightly soiled, with a small chip to the upper left corner, Very Good Plus.

The eighth and final collaboration of James Stewart and Anthony Mann, and the second film to be released in VistaVision. "Dutch" (Stewart) is a professional baseball player and an ex-pilot who fought during WWII who is recalled to service with the US Air Force. Many speculate that the film was inspired by true-life baseballer and Hall-of-Famer Ted Williams, a WWII veteran who was recalled for service during the Korean War. Nominated for an Academy Award.
